Into The Fray: Veterans Day Weekend
SGT. ALVIN C. YORK STATE HISTORIC PARK
NOVEMBER 11 — NOVEMBER 14
Into the Fray, a veterans day weekend event at Sgt. Alvin C. York State Historic Park will highlight the history of World War 1 through Living History demonstrations and programs. The event will focus specifically on the American Experience in the war as doughboys, like Alvin York, found themselves thrust into the conflict in Europe. Look for WW1 era biplanes, artillery, trench warfare tactics, Red Cross history and much more as the park comes alive in 1918, the fate of the world hanging in the balance. Masks are recommended and social distancing will be required. Call the park office (931) 879-6456 for more information.
Weekend Schedule:
- Nov. 11, Thursday 11am: Virtual Veterans Day Ceremony live on the park facebook page.
- Nov. 12, Friday 9-3pm: Student Day. Programming throughout the day for school visitations.
- Nov. 13, Saturday 9-3:30pm: Programs ongoing in these three areas throughout the day, American Red Cross Aid Station, Camp Doughboy, and The Fighting Front.
- Nov. 14, Sunday 10am: Morning Service, 11am: Baseball Game.
