2018 Inaugural “Veterans Open” Archery Competition
This is a free event open to all Veterans with a valid VA identification card or Military retiree identification card. You do not have to be an alumni member to attend this event. Event to be held @ Triple Play Athletics in Clarksville, TN from 9 to 11 am on 25 March 2018.
You must pre-register for this event by simply commenting below “I would like to compete”. Limited to 25 participants.
Competition will be 20 yard “Bullseye”. It will be a tournament style shoot with 3 rounds. 50% Advance to second round, 25% advance to 3rd and final championship around. Compound Bows only.
1st Place – Bear Cruzer G2 complete set up
2nd Place – TruFire Hardcore Buckle Foldback Adjustable Release
3rd Place – Morell Archery Bag Field Point Target

TWI Disabled & Wounded Veteran Handgun Permit Course
Students attending have been sent an email and must reply to lock in their seat to the course. Attached is the flyer and info for the Handgun Permit Course. Please ensure that you read all attachments thoroughly as there are some pre-requisites. If you’re plans change or for any reason or you can not attend, please let us know as early as possible where another Veteran can benefit. Be aware that the start time for the course on 25 March (Sunday) is 10am. At 10am, the doors are locked and you will not be allowed to enter so BE Early!

1. I Have read the attached Student Guide & Course Prerequisites. I will comply and be ready for the class on 25 March 2018.
2. I DO/DO NOT require Special Accommodations. List any physical limitations that may affect your marksmanship. Our Instructors will adapt and instruct accordingly. However we need to know of any limitations prior to the Class.
3. I DO/DO NOT require Wheelchair Accessibility.
After we receive your information, you are locked in for the course.

TWI 4th Annual Spring Turkey Hunt
Two Day Turkey Hunt for Alumni only
Selection Process – Lottery Drawing on March 15th
Date – April 27-29
Time – All Day
Location – Fayetteville Tennessee
Three Day Event for Alumni Only. Four Alumni will be selected for this Hunt. Hunt will be professionally guided and conducted by Elk River outfitters. Turkey hunting is a sport involving the pursuit of the wild turkey. You do not have to be familiar with Turkey hunting. Interested Alumni members should email info@warriorinitative.org to request attendance. Alumni members can also enter the lottery by simply commenting “Enter Me” on the event.

TWI Bowfishing Trip
Selection Process – Lottery Drawing on April 15th
Date – May 6th
Time – 6PM – 5AM
Location – Herndon KY
TWI Bowfishing event for One Alumni Member and up to 3 Family Members! Winner will be selected via lottery. Alumni & Family will meet @ Herndon Archery at 6pm. This is a night Bowfishing Trip with approximately 4-5 hours on the water. A Tennessee fishing OR hunting license is required. You do not need to bring a bow or have any knowledge of the sport. The guides @ Herndon Archery will coach, teach and mentor you throughout the Interested Alumni members should email info@warriorinitative.org to request attendance. Alumni members can also enter the lottery by simply commenting “Enter Me” on the event.
It is reccomended you bring:
– Tennessee fishing OR hunting license is required
– Insect Repellant
– Motion Sickness Medication (if you get sea sickness)
– Change of Clothing
– Small Cooler with Drinks/Snacks

TWI Scuba Discovery Course

Overview Scuba Discovery
You learn the basics you need to dive under the direct supervision of a PADI Professional. One thing you’ll learn is that you really can breathe underwater and whether you like doing that or not. You will:
1 – Learn what wearing scuba equipment feels like and how easy it is to move around underwater while wearing it
2 – Find out what it’s like to breathe underwater and learn whether you can be comfortable there
3 – Learn some basic skills and safety rules that will carry over to your full scuba certification course when you take the next step
Equipment
All the equipment you will need is included in a Discover Scuba Diving experience. You’ll use all the basic scuba gear including a mask and snorkel, fins, a wetsuit, a buoyancy compensating jacket (BCD) that carries your weights and scuba tank, a scuba regulator to breathe from and instrumentation to monitor depth and air supply.
Materials You need to bring
Just your willingness and undivided attention, a towel and swimsuit.
Prerequisites
To take participate in the Discover Scuba Diving program you must be at least 10 years old. Please inform us prior to scheduling of any disability that may need to be accommodated. Veterans with heart problems and/or a lung injury will need clearance from a doctor to attend.
Alumni that complete the Scuba Dsicovery Class will be eligible
