Veteran’s Day Flag Placement – John Sevier Location
Description:November 4th we will be showing our respect to our veteran’s by placing flags at each tombstone. This a small token of appreciation we can show to those that have served. All that is requiered is a couple hours of your time. There will be a short ceremony then flag placement. Please rember to bring something to poke a hole with. A screwdriver or cordless drill with bit works great.

23rd Farragut Fall 5k, Fun Run, & Pet Walk
The Farragut West Knox Chamber of Commerce (FWKCC) is excited to host its 23rd Annual Farragut Fall 5K & Fun Walk on Saturday, Nov. 11, 2017! This annual event helps fund the Chamber’s Continuing Education Scholarships and 15% of registrations will be donated to the Smoky Mountain Service Dogs (SMSD) to aid in their mission to provide canine mobility assistance to qualified veterans at no cost to the veteran.
The USATF sanctioned 5K race and 1-mile fun walk and pet parade will begin at Watt Road and Kingston Pike in Farragut, TN. Runners traverse a scenic traffic-free road course through Sedgefield subdivision; walkers continue into Mayor Bob Leonard Park. Both groups finish in the park at separate finish lines. Four-legged friends are welcome and will enjoy bandanas, tennis balls and treats! All pets MUST be leashed; dogs not allowed on the 5K course due to insurance requirements. Running strollers welcome!
NEW THIS YEAR: Walkers who bring their dog will have the chance to participate in our first ever PACK WALK led by a Certified Canine Trainer & Behaviorist who is a graduate of the Cesar Milan (“Dog Whisperer”) training program!
DATE & TIME: November 11th, 2017 at 8 a.m. (Registration 7:00-7:30 a.m.)
NOTE: Watt Road Closes at 7:30 a.m.

Fall Family Jam
Description:As a special way of saying thank you on Veterans’ Day to all those who have served or are serving in our military, Catholic Charities of East Tennessee is proud to offer free admission to the Fall Family Jam for all Veterans. (Just to clarify, this is not a religious event.)
Please join WIVK and Catholic Charities of East Tennessee for an afternoon of fall fun at the Fall Family Jam, Saturday, November 11 from 1pm-6pm at The Stables at Hunter Valley Farms. Enjoy an afternoon of live music, featuring performances by The Chillbillies, Barefoot Sanctuary and The Mt. LeConte Jug Band. Sample a variety of delicious treats and tasty beverages brought to you by local food trucks and area businesses. Children will enjoy arts and crafts, lawn games, face painting and more! Shop with local vendors, watch the afternoon’s football games, or kick up your boots for a square dance – there will be something for everyone to enjoy at the Fall Family Jam!
